Oh it's been a while since I saw cute Koshini here again, I don't even know if I still have her in my folder.

Thanks for the comment, Ute! I bought her way back when, but I think she comes with Poser (not sure when that started), so if you have Poser, you probably have her in that runtime!

Beautiful!!!!!!! Love the purples. I think the outfit looks good!

Thanks! I do love purples :-) In this pose, the skirt kinda broke away from the bodice, and the bodice shrank around the abdomen but not in the chest, leaving an odd edge between the two areas. Obviously that was going to be more noticeable to me than to anyone else, but I still felt compelled to mention it! :-)

love her quarts purple crystals. i have one but not purple, but it is what they call a live one. cause it is still growing in some places on it. what once on the sides of the taller crystals when i got it about thirty years ago was a fine grain salt looking texture, but now they are like small pebbles and very coarse.

Thanks for the comment! That's pretty cool about your quartz crystal that's "alive"! I've never seen that, but I bet it's cool to compare how it changes over the years!

Delightful composition, adorable character, superb atmosphere and lighting, brilliant render. It's all magic.
Magnificent Masterpiece of Finest Arts. I love it!

What a delightful and graceful little ballerina, lovely outfit and colors.... beautiful work !!

Thanks so much for the comment, madame! I think if I'd proceeded with the scene that also featured Loik and Bonga in ballet outfits, it would've detracted from how pretty Koshini looks here. But maybe they'll show up in another scene :-)

Nice work! Strange about the outfit, but you got it to work well!

Thanks so much! It's been a while since I worked on this scene, but I think the issue may have been that the pose required that I turn limits off, and that may have messed with the dress (making the bodice seem to shrink in, pulling away from the skirt and creating an odd edge with the chest area). But the dress AND the pose were both made by Lady Littlefox, so surely she tested them together! So maybe it has something to do with how Poser has changed since she made these items.

Koshini is the sweetest character & she makes such a precious ballerina! You did an excellent job on her outfit; I would have never known you had a problem with it!

Thanks so much for the comment! I'm not all that skilled at making textures for characters (I tend to use a lot of seamless tiles and just do a few tweaks to the face, like adding blush and freckles using curves layers as well as eyebrows), but I really like how this skin turned out for her.
The issue with the dress is that the abdomen area seemed to shrink inwards, so that it pulled away from the skirt and created a weird edge under the chest area. I can't remember now what I did to minimize it, but I'm glad it's not as noticeable to other people as it still is to me! :-)

She looks like a very highly qualified dancer and is so elegant in this pose! I'll bet she charms many a person in her long and illustrious career! Many fine kudos on this excellent work!

Thanks so much for the comment, OmniFX! I had no idea where Koshini would be doing her ballet moves when I first started this scene, and I'm happy with what I came up with, even if it is a bit odd for a ballerina to be en pointe on a rock surrounded by crystals :-)

Clothing for older characters has always been a problem. Most were made for a character to stand in the simplest of poses. Once you try to do realistic poses, things go sideways. It's worse for doing animations. Skirts and dresses caused the most problem when the thighs were moved. However, you did well with this and I think it looks just fine :)

In this case, both the dress AND the pose were made by Lady Littlefox (who also made Koshini, of course), meaning they were meant to go together, so it was odd to me when I applied the pose and saw the bodice of the dress shrink away from the skirt and sink in around the abdomen, leaving a weird edge between that area and the chest. I rendered this scene about a month ago, so I can't recall what I did to minimize the issue, but I definitely recall being surprised at how much the bodice "broke" at first!
Lady Littlefox made a long skirt for Krystal that I put through all kinds of motion testing, and it poses great, although it's kind of a pain to have to figure out which of the many dials you need to adjust for each pose. I studied that skirt for long time trying to figure out the mysteries of rigging a skirt! Ultimately when I made long skirts myself, I made them hybrids, so that the waist area conformed but the skirt could be dynamic. Maybe not practical for animations, but much easier for still images!

Great scene... love the purple theme and those gorgeous crystals really caught my eye!

Sounds a bit like the joint zones in the outfit weren't properly working in the more recent version of Poser. }-( I don't get a lot of that and it's remarkable how legacy material has held up. I worry that the ambitious modernization of Poser may break a lot more of the old stuff that I really like. >.<
As for the picture itself, the composition, texturing, posing and lighting is really eye-catching. I mean this as a very high compliment: it has the charming look of Disney CGI characters to my eye. =)

Thanks so much for the comment, Molly! I know you're behind on commenting, and I really appreciate that you're taking a look at my stuff from a few weeks ago!
In the hands of someone who has the patience to animate, I think Koshini and Krystal (with new skin textures) would make pretty cute Disney-esque ladies!
