Most of the raccoons I see these days are flat in the middle of the road. I'd say use a have-a-heart trap but you would probably catch the cat instead. Other than sitting up all night with a shotgun and hoping you didn't blow the back wall out, I have no real suggestions. Great photo by the way.

I trapped raccoons for a few of my former clients, and then took the animal to the local police station. someone there would release outside the city limits.
