Gorgeous image! I love the texture here.
Forgive me for my absence, Jacomina, I've not been on RR for a while (until the last few days). You posted such a beautiful, moving dedi for me, on my birthday...and I intended to comment on you right after that. But I had sudden commitments and problems, and then RR did another "change" (where they change the site), and I just couldn't deal with the site at that time. Anyway, I'm back for a few days, and I want to comment on a number of your always beautiful images...And I'm very grateful for the comments you've left me. They're always so beautifully written...and I know you have to translate them too, so I'm very grateful. You're very kind and very insightful. Bedankt!
Full size, this is a beautiful portrait of a stag beetle. We can see all the tiny dots on its shell, and even on its legs. It looks very noble, with those antennae on its head. And the wood that it stands on looks alive. Beautifully proportioned---your proportion of space to wood to beetle is very harmonious. It's quite a noble shot.
