In my late 20’s I took a three week trip to the Florida Everglades to birdwatch with a friend. I studied many books about the Everglades ecology before I went. Once there, it was like walking through a totally alien world. There were chicken-sized birds, deeply iridescent, walking light and colors, from head to tail - dark ibises flying like mysterious shadow angels overhead. Not one single sound there was a familiar sound. On the very last night I was there, before coming back to the normal world, I had this dream: I was shown that between all the objects you see here every day - are Golden Stairs. These Golden Stairs lead to the dimension where the perfected versions of all we know here - Live - in all their beauty and glory. And - if we could only know how - any one of us could go up those steps at any time. * * * This Shaman is a re-render and update of The Desert Weaver. * * * This Shaman’s story: She is a Weaver.
