Description

They might hog the wardrobe, but when it came to guard duty, they were pretty bad ass at it too. Not to mention they were also highly qualified in technical stuff. Just yesterday I asked them how to hack the central heater controller to make our room a little colder and they tried to walk me through it. “You should re-route energy to the aft gamma-wave booster amplifier.” the first girl said. "Oh?" I said, totally bewildered. "Before that, check for control malfunctions in the carbon rubidium defragmentor. You should re-route emergency power through the antigravity drive grease.” the second girl warned. "Oh yeah, my bad," the first girl smacked her head. "Thanks for that reminder. Of course, you might notice a series of nanowave pulse signatures in the rear-side FTL drive plates. You need to de-scramble the flow propulsion nullifier.” "I see," Of course, I didn't. "Next, you should purge the subatomic rubidium destabilizer.” "All the way," the second girl chimed in. "All the way," the first girl nodded. "All the way," I repeated robotically. My head felt like exploding. "If you hear a beep, then the neutonium dorsal is offline. Bad news. You should re-attenuate the overheating ion containment field.” "Mmm, that's bad, we wouldn't want that right?" I laughed, which came off somewhat fake. Both girls looked at me like I'd just grew horns. "Look," the first girl said, quite ominously "A beep means you've caused a quantum surge in the barium warp centrifuge. In other words, an anomolous power spike in the cerium bubble flinger." "Best case, you might just singe the carbon 12 bipolar core. Worst case, you trigger a series spikes in the nitronium magnesium energy core, and destabilize the glob turbine lubricator. You know what I'm saying?" the second girl demanded. "Y..yeah," I was sweating profusely now. "Umm, beep no good?" "How about....Beep, kaboom." the first girl said. "Beep, kaa booom." the second girl said, more slowly, while moving her hands outwards to indicate an alarmingly huge explosion. "Beep, kaaa booooom." I said, even more slowly. Both girls looked hard at me, then finally nodded in satisfaction. "If no beeps, then walla!" the first girl clapped her hand cheerfully. "You're in. Set the temp, and you're done!" "Easy peasy," the second girl beamed at me. Then they scurried off, continuing their patrol. I decided then that a little warm weather wouldn't hurt anybody.
