Description
Got a little fired up after posting the Witcher figures and posted a quick study of Essi Daven. Known as 'Little Eye' on account of how her unruly peek-a-bangs fell over one of her huge blue eyes, Essi was a poet and bard who encounters Geralt and his friend Dandelion at a wedding banquet in the seaside town of Bremervoot. Both Essi and Dandelion perform, and during a break, Essi and Geralt trade insults which they soon regret. Essi shares an adventure with Geralt and falls in love with him, which he cannot reciprocate. He gifts her a blue pearl, which is set into a silver flower pendant.
There's a whole lot more to Essi's story, but getting into it would require a lot of prose...
Essi dies four years later from a smallpox epidemic. Her body is unceremoniously thrown into a pit, but is recovered by the ever traveling Dandelion, who buries her in the woods with the two things that mattered most - her lute and the blue pearl pendant.
For this quick study I used VYK's Marilyn, who just seemed to fit as did the venerable 'Cafe Curls.' Ms. Davin will get some tweaking, some clothes and her pendant before her next performance, but there's a few ahead of her in queue...

Thanks gaius -per page Essi might well be the most beloved character in the 'Witcherverse'. Shame Netflix didn't feature her story in the first season of 'The Witcher.' Would have been a tight fit on a tight schedule, but a well received fan-service...

Thanks miwi - very little tweaking here other than slightly enlarging her eyes. Otherwise she's 'out of the box' Marilyn from VYK. I couldn't have created a better scratch-match to my impression of Essi if I'd spent all day.

An appealing character (thanks for the background as I know little of the Witcher series but what I am learning here) and a very nice rendering. As clothing helps make the character I will be interested to see how you might dress her as you continue to develop the appearance. As always, thank you for sharing, JD--.

I agree, Molly - clothing, hair and pose bring our guys and gals to life and setting tells their tale. In a scene Essi will have some sort of renaissance or medieval dress or something in between to best represent what I find on canon. She'll have her pendant, or something close, and a lute though I might have to source one if I don't have one in cache. I have plenty of inns for her to play, and rogues to listen so that will be pretty straightforward, especially as settings are my greatest source of reward and amusement in the rare instances where the magic actually works....
There's a lot of fine studio and fan art dedicated to such a minor character so researching should be fun. Arguably I'll be reinventing somebody's wheel in one fashion or another, but that can't be helped as I'm not up to creating wardrobe from scratch to a level I would accept and she didn't have a firelock....
