Such a beautiful image with the girl and her bird but it brings a sad tear to my eye. My daughter, (she is in her 30s with two of her own children) had a beautiful smaller bird like this one and everyone just love it to pieces! It was always the center of attention at any gathering with it chatter and unique happy little character. Well, to cut to the chase, not long ago, my daughter had the bird out of its cage and she was very happy with chores around the house. She usually left the bird out when she was alone. She got tired and was only going to take a little nap on the couch. Well, this is the hard part. Her little bird that loved her so, crawled up too close to her and somehow, she must have rolled over on top of it and smothered it. When she woke up...... Well, I can't go on. It was too tragic. Her husband and the children were almost as devastated as she was. It will take a long time for them to recover from the loss of this sweet little bird.
It's a tragedy for a child, I can empathize with that, as a 5-year-old I once had a goldfish that was eaten by a neighbor's cat and as an 8-year-old a golden hamster who slept in my bed that died because he was eaten himself to death. I put the remains of the goldfish in a matchbox (wrapped in cotton wool) and then buried it in the garden, the golden hamster also got a worthy burial in the garden and the tears flowed in rivers !!!!
