Description
A couple horses I've painted. Both inspired by my fantasy series, "The Chronicles of Golide."
The Seafoam horses are ridden by an army of the Elan, who have been kept in statis for over a thousand years. Powerful magic, only able to work on the women. Their horses were combined with the surf, to remain strong crashing against the shoreline until the day they would be called forth.
Andarion is a King among horses, and is much more than just a dumb riding animal. Truth be told, most of my readers cite him as their favorite character. Not easy painting a black horse in an interesting way, and difficult to get a picture that truly showcases it well. There's a lot more depth than you can see.
Some of my favorite work, both of them.
These were both converted from Unicorn models from Reaper. It's actually hard to find good horse miniatures. Oddly enough. Sure, they exist, but they aren't given the same level of care that they deserve. I'd love for one of the better companies (like Dark Sword Miniatures) to do a whole set of different breeds, poses, and tack.
