I love the piece and I love the title! I love that you made the background into lace---out of which your fractal 3D ornament "emerges". (Fractal porn!) But that lace: It's like you made it out of molten enamel or sealing wax. (Remember that stuff? It came in sticks, and you melted them onto the page, then imprinted your seal on it? We had them as kids, they were a blast, and royalty used it for ages...((a really haughty way to sign your name!))) Well that's what your lace looks like. The patterns are very clear and complex, but they give way to the "lava" of the enamel. And then that ornament comes through, w/ beautiful light and texture on it: It's really sensuous---you even have a dark purple section, and some of the tendrils are red too. That part is a work of art by itself. Beautiful work, barb! What a great concept---that lace is like you embossed it in molten tomato sauce. (Can you hear it---"did you get the new fractal catalogue this month? Wait till you see the pictures...")
