Superb render! Paul if you want to avoid the "strange" shadows/lighting as the ones which cab be seen at the front of the door, you MUST always give the new material a 30° smoothing angle instead of the 89.90° default a angle which is needed only for basic shapes. As my models are very detailed with many polygons this default angle creates appearance flaws.
