Description
The hurricane force winds and rotors of the strange air vehicle buffeted against Jack as he balanced atop the small boat. Tan had a harness around his waist and leaned out into the rain to grab Jack. Jack locked his arms onto Tan and was lifted into the aircraft. Jack was a little surprised at Tan’s strength, but then, Jack had noticed Tan’s world was a heavy gravity planet. All humans were mostly the same, with only minor environmental variations.
“What took so long?” Jack shouted over the roar of the engines; his stomach lurching as the aircraft lifted away from the ocean below.
Tan frowned. “Long story, but basically the people on this planet are insane, we need to get off this world. Did you find the gate?”
“It’s down about two-hundred feet.” Jack shook his head to shed the water from his hair. “It’s been down there for a long time, maybe three-thousand years. I think it was on an island that sank into the ocean during a volcanic eruption. The gate is still active, but very unstable, we can’t use it. So, where are they taking us?”
Tan wrapped a blanket around Jack. “They're taking us to their naval base on an island called, Bermuda. From there we’re on our own to hitch a ride back to the mainland.”

well, having come in in my usual 'in medias res' fashion, I'm not totally sure what's happened here, but I love that they're gonna go to Bermuda, and then be on their own from there. And I like your descriptions of the transition from boat and ground to that roaring aircraft, and how Jack's stomach reacts. As well as Tan's description of the people on that planet. Your image captures the fluttering nature of their transition. And Jack---from that angle--looks almost like a character from Dickens. Another wonderful visual for your tale...
