Consider this a piece to inspire reasons for our good Chasfh to design an entire line of baggy/oversized clothing that isn't based on glamour looks. Just look at this "simple" too-big t-shirt. Imagine this cutie wearing a hoodie that hangs to her knees, or a flannel shirt that must have belonged to her father. Seriously. That's been my biggest complaint about DAZ Studio ever since I started using it. "Enlarge All" is not the same as sizing something up. Not to mention the fact that you've got to scale your ladies down or else they all end up as 5'11" barbie dolls. I scale back to at least 95%, except for those characters I have that _are_ actually that tall or taller. But of course, using the scale tool can cause it's own problems. Smart props tend to scale as well, meaning if you have to characters of different sizes, and they both have apples, the smaller character has a smaller apple. This, in turn, messes with the viewer's sense of scale. It's not so bad if there's only one character in the scene, but once you add more, and change their sizes... The alternative is to then not use smart-props and insert the item separately, posing it painstakingly by hand. A great example of this are my portraits of Aryll. I've had a couple people point out how huge the sword looks. And I grin every time because Aryll is 4 foot 11 inches, and the swords are normal sized. They're SUPPOSED to look big, because she is small. It took me WAY too long to figure out how to create a "helper" prop. I mean, it's super obvious once you do it that first time, but there are so many wonderful older sword props that rotate around an odd axis. Surely some script could be written, at this point. I don't know. All I know is, I want to see more baggie clothing. I don't think I'm alone in this. Showing off a couple freebie items as well. The wall is "Wall Light" by Kalhh. The pose is from Itazura, modified just a little. Expression is mine. Today I'm going to use a couple more of Kahlh's freebies in a comic panel - some wonderful medieval furniture I'm going to use to fill the scene. I really like this wall light prop. The scene is lit by that lamp, a soft spotlight (30 spread, 450 lumen) and an HDRI from the "Darkest Night" HDRI pack. I'd say at least 80% of the light is just that one lamp, with the others added just to detail her face a little. Though, truth be told, I really liked how it looked with JUST the wall light. However, since I wanted to show off the shirt... more was needed. A round of applause to chasfh for the shirt, and hopefully enough of ya'll speak up so they're more inclined to explore the possibilities further. Start a trend. Heck, don't stop at tops either. It would be KILLER to finally find some coveralls that aren't so gosh-darn form fitting. They're work clothes! They should be comfy. (I might have a slight coverall fetish... hmmmmmmm) #baggyclothesforDaz P.S. I was especially delighted in how easy it was to create a new design for the shirt. A quick fill of one of the textures, and I was soon downloading png tubes from png egg and saving several different ideas. (I also scaled it up to double to make sure we had plenty of pixel.) This one was my favorite for this scene. I love how everything contrasts. The smooth skin with the rough wall, the cute shirt with the dark makeup. I went back and forth on giving her lipstick, but opted to leave it off and rely on the eyeliner to bring attention to her eyes. If it isn't obvious by now, I'm just a little obsessed with making eyes look good in portraits.
