.. On a sunny summer day. Anyone remember what that was like? Back in the days when you could walk down the street in your neighborhood, even stop and chat with one of your neighbors without having to wear 2 or 3 layers of fabric over your face...
I miss those days.
Just wanted to drop by to let you all know I'll be out of action for a few days.. I had a pipe rupture in my basement restroom. It's not a major one, but it's - naturally - in a location where I cannot just shut off the water to it. I'd have to shut it off for the whole house. And it's going to be a week before I can get a plumber out. I do have a kluged together drainage system, so it's more of a pain in the butt than a major problem. One thing after another...
And to be honest I have no right to complain - at all. Seeing the hell those folks in Texas and Oklahoma are going through.. Looks like 2020 is continuing into 2021....
At least NASA had a good day..

I dream of spring, thanks for the peek into the future. Hopefully it will be close to how things were.
picking up from where I skipped in my last session (I want to get to as many as I can), first of all I hope your plumbing problems are a thing of the past. I've not lived in a house in ages, so don't know all the responsibilities; and I know that a plumbing problem like yours can be a royal and way time-consuming pain. I also know that water, for all its wonderful qualities, manages to do more damage than just about anything else; and when there's danger of floods, there isn't much you can do but fix the problem. I've seen what a broken pipe can do. Water manages to wheedle its way into everything. I hope it's over now.
As for this portrait, I have a sense that a lot of your portraits are tighter, closer affairs: My memory could be wrong, but a portrait like this feels more open, more spacious. You do tighter portraits so well; but then, when you pose your models in a more spacious setting, you're equally at ease. She's clearly posed, walking to our left but turned to acknowledge us, real photographer stuff (your photography background shows up all over your 3D work); and you've got another great job with pose, light and outfit, incl more of your consummate fashion skills, and a gentle, poised sexiness. And the tones surrounding her harmonize with her purple and chocolate tones. And while she's out for a stroll, she has such a model's presence, she'd stop anyone passing by. Also, she's situated in a transition in the facade behind her, and her shadow is a sweet contrasting angle...the image has balance, 'music'. She's posed as if for a photographer---so many of your portraits are---and the light on her seems pretty much the brightest in the image, esp in her upper body where it glows in reddish tones. And the focus on her makes her stand out. (Love the clarity on her.) Forgive me if I don't remember which member of your cast she is---when I'm here on and off, I don't always remember all the names. As a result, I feel like an idiot! I should get a program---with bios, studio pics, and favorite quotes---so I can keep record of everyone. Regardless of my lapses, serene and beautifully lit work, and a classy poised portrait.
