Description
I thought I was doing another showcase render.
I could remember getting this outfit the day it came out. It was a must-grab, simply because it was from Zoro_D. I thought I paid for it. It sat in my runtime, unused. Making me feel guilty. for spending money on something I didn't really have a use for.
So yesterday I sat down to right that wrong. And this whole scene came to me entire. I was pretty proud of myself, and after actually loading the outfit, I felt no more buyer's remorse for it. It comes with several textures, and poses! Including the one you see here. A fantastic set.
Imagine my surprise, then, when I go to tag the outfit and it isn't in Zoro_D's store! A little research, and there it was in the free stuff section. D'oh!
I have to say though, this outfit is SOOOO good, I would have paid money for it. That's what surprised me, because I thought I had!
The scene is one that I can use for my Steampunk game, so that's nice! Although the most out-there element in the scene is pretty hidden by the DOF. That lady in the back by the wall is wearing a gas mask, lol. I wanted to make sure that Beliniah there was the primary focus of the scene. I actually did a render without the other people in it, but I think this way she actually draws the focus even more.
We got Biscuit's Jam hair. Powered some nail polish from Sonja. The set up is the "Fantasy Council Room." The lantern, of course, is from Cogman's. I could recall this scene in an old movie (can't remember the name of it) of a belly dancer twirling around a candleabra, so I wanted to do a variation on that theme. I absolutely love how her skin looks. That was a happy accident, for sure!
Besides the lantern, there's a single spotlight, set as a fill, and with the temp set to 4k.
If you haven't nabbed this outfit from Free Stuff yet, be sure to do so!

P.S. STILL not getting site emails, so getting to everybody's wonderful art is proving a challenge. I'm trying to keep caught up, I promise!

beautiful - stunning light and atmosphere
Thank you! I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I did Beliniah's posing and the lighting before I headed out the door to go eat turkey, and then finished it up late last night. I really like it.
Fantastic art piece today, Lyle! Love the character, the outfit and her pose! She has such grace and poise! A splendid addition to your fantastic gallery! Many fine praises from me!
Aww, thank you! I trust you had a lovely Thanksgiving?
Lovely work my friend! Another fine use of the lantern (I love the shadows it makes!), and she looks great in that light.
Very nice all round.
Thanks! I'm going to make sure it gets credit EVERY time I use it, too!
Last night a little Dancer came Dancin" to my door. Rebel Yell/ Billy Idol
Lighting works very well here.
That is one of my all-time favorite songs! Thanks for making my day. Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Beautiful pose, staging, pallet and character. Also want to thank you for describing the work and the assets - wish more talented artists were so helpful in describing a piece. See it, read it. learn it. Most of us could use some insight - myself foremost.
Gonna get the lantern. Thanks!
I appreciate the feedback. I've spent a lot of time wondering "How did they do that?"
I believe that just because we learn the "tricks" other people use, doesn't mean we take away from their art. Even understanding how a magician does his tricks still makes the illusions impressive. I'm glad people get something out of it. Even if they didn't, well, I enjoy writing it so I'd continue anyway!
Wonderful Image, very beautiful, love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot Mike! Have yourself a great day.
Great pose, great outfit, great lighting!
Thank you kindly, hasdoc! I hope I got all your new posts liked and/or commented! Keep up the excellent work, my friend.
Excellent
Thank you!
Beautifully done!
Thanks!
That actually looks better than Princess Leia's fabled slave outfit actually. (I always thought it looked tacky)
Well, I think tacky worked for it because it was picked out by a giant space slug. I always find it odd that people would cosplay the outfit, because Leia definitely did NOT choose to wear it herself. Fisher hated it, too.
Thanks for the look, and I'm glad you like it! It really is a lovely outfit.
Awesome job and lighting. I like the POV and DOF, both draw your eyes to beauty !
That's in free stuff??? 😲 I'm on my way....
Absolutely fantastic job on this beauty, Lyle! Killer posing and lighting - wow!
I'm setting tomorrow aside to man-up (LOL) and get DS reinstalled on the 2080ti machine. Wish me luck!
I wish you much luck, and am jealous of your 2080! Thanks for your feedback!
Fantastic work! I'm going to go grab that outfit.
Thanks for the compliment! And definitely do grab it. It comes with several color options AND poses. quite a nice set.
Marvelous and beautiful!!!Good job 👍🙋♂️5️⃣⭐️
Thank you very much my dude!
Excellent rendering, beautiful work my friend
Thank you! Hope you are having a great day.
excellent
Thanks!
Really nice work!! I'm working on something similar, except there's a chrome pole in the middle... annnnnd she has less clothes on... annnnnd there are dollar bills all over on the floor ... yep lol
Lol. Nice! Good luck with that. The only thing I figure she needs now are those tiny little cymbals.
Excellent work!
Thank you, rb! I appreciate it.
stunning poses
Thank you. I think the scene came together really well. Seems like fans agree... Have a wonderful day.
A most beautiful render and a really creative use of varied assets. You really rocked it on this one. She and the outfit are gorgeous. the camera work is exquisite. And the lighting is so nicely done. It is a keeper for sure.
Aww, thank you. That's so nice to hear. There's four generations of models in this scene, too. I really wanted to push it and have them all be together and look natural that way. I'm glad you like it my friend. I really am.
Very nice! There are several dancing scenes that comes to mind. But the one that sticks out is Salma Hayek in: From dusk till down.
A classic for sure! Miss Hayek has always been a favorite of mine. I'm glad you like this, and I hope you have a wonderful day.
Your newest image is wonderfully done, it's a real feast for the eyes dear Lyle! 😊 I wish you and yours a very nice Sunday, take care and stay healthy!
Thank you very much for your kind words. I'm glad you like it. 😄
Splendid scene!
Thank you!
superb atmosphere , and lightning
Thank you. Every now and then I stumble into something cool. I'm glad folks like her, because I know I sure do.
A delightful and beautiful scene. The lighting is perfect. The lady in the gas mask thinks that there will a gas attack from the 7-bean soup served just an hour ago?
Lol. Im thinking she has delicate lungs and just takes precautions. Or perhaps she's not fully human, and has to hide that. Who knows?
