Sometimes A Spirit
You are next to me,
But you're a universe away.
For just a moment,
Just the smallest fraction,
Of a second, a flash,
You can hear me cry.
Sometimes a spirit,
Will cross your path,
And look you in the eye.
Will you return a wink,
A smile, or a spit,
And a snarl?
Another life, another time,
Yet still the same.
Once you give it a name,
You make it real,
In one parallel world,
Or another.
You are next to me,
But you're a universe away.
For just a moment,
You can hear me cry.
Sometimes a spirit,
Will look you in the eye.
