Description
One of the many things I have missed during the pandemic is the freedom to wander into art galleries and lose myself in the displays. Of course, more often than not, eventually someone will wonder aloud if what they are looking at is indeed "art." The gallery owners certainly have an ironclad answer for that one, but their objectivity is understandably questionable . . .
Once more, the Ragnarok mask is front and center. Post-processing in GIMP and Lo-Fi.
Enjoy!

Great commentary on Art. From the Abstract Artist era , Andy Warhol. Campbell's Soup Cans. 1962 , to the mightymysterio Gas Mask the question is asked without answer. I know real art when I see it, like world famous picture of Dog's Playing Cards. There is no doubt that is real art.
My grandma used to say that art is "peeing in a corner of a round room". With some modern art (Beuys, installations) I do have difficulties and I prefer art that doesn't need a manual to explain what it is about (as opposed to "give a wide range of interpretation options"). I see a gas mask more like a cenotaph of men's failure, but then again it is one of art's functions to criticize.
great I like how close they are looking
Great idea and execution.
Once Duchamp put the urinal on the wall and called it art, the gates were opened and anything goes!!! I personally don't have a problem with it. Yes I absolutely love beautiful paintings and sculptures by very talented people, but there is an intellectual aspect to much of modern art that is just part of the fabric of our times. If it makes you think - GREAT - you don't have to like it.
Indeed it is...
Nicely done, Mysterio and a great question.... what is art? Lol... how many artists can dance on the head of a paint brush :P
I like the way you have done this post...very nice!
Thank you for your thoughts and comments. Much appreciated!
Nice one Dan, when you see a good part of what we can see into museums and art expositions these days one could probably revert the question, and ask : What is not art ? Lol :D
Fantastic image and design. Excellent work!
