Wow, sensational! I love the appearance of a figure in the whites. It is called Pareidolia which is a type of apophenia. This is a more generalized term for seeing patterns in random data. Some common examples are seeing a likeness of Jesus in the clouds or an image of a man on the surface of the moon.Dec 11, 2012. It is an amazing mixture of geometry and color. It does look like a human head and/or figure in the middle of its back. Awesome design and rainbow color. Most impressive!
wow, you're really branching out, Tom...this has lots of different colors, and they kind of morph into each other...and different textures too...with that strange totemic figure in the center---daggerwilldo called it pareidolia, but to me it looks like it's a real character standing in the middle of it all. Ghostly too, since it's all in whites and grays (well, with dabs of green too). All these bugs have feel mythic, like they were wrested from some ancient temple...and this one really has that feeling: That figure in the center is like a god/goddess that this pendant celebrates. And you have a kind of pastel rainbow effect, with rich red/yellow eyes (and beautiful green-blue wings, in your usual chrome-like morphs). With all these hues, a gray background helps set it off....A very rich totem-like figure, like a huge jeweled pendant which has deep meaning to a culture we don't know but are sure curious about. Beautiful work once more, Tom: you just never run out of fresh variations on this...I'm amazed...
