I can't help hoping all those "Gollums" out there hoarding toilet paper and sanitizer then trying to sell it on Amazon for 70 bucks a pop meet the same fate as Gollum did. A lava pit seems like a good place for them.
I saw where one idiot in Tennessee bought 18,000 bottles of sanitizer, and planned on selling them on Amazon for $70.00 per bottle. Amazon shut him down, and now the Tennessee Attorney General is investigating him. He apparently decided to donate them to a local church in a weak effort to not look like a total asshole.
Anyway, this idea popped into my head this afternoon after seeing the word 'precious' while noodling around the internet. I thought it might bring a little ray of light in these dark times.

(forgive me for being late on this, I'm surrounded by sick people, and have a few family members who are sick---not with covid19, but colds and flus...so I flirted with both, once again, which under normal times wouldn't be a big deal, but which---with the present outbreak---becomes a serious threat; so I've been laying low and doing my best to get 100% well)...
I saw this when you posted it, and it's perfect. This Gollum is probably an accurate depiction of those amazon vendors who buy up things cheap and, now, can sell them at prices that re through the freakin' roof. (Ss of this moment, amazon clamped down on gougers for things like tpaper and such, but still haven't done a thing about the rest of them---try getting rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide for less than 8, 10 dollars and up...) So your depiction still holds true. Let me say that the image, itself, is impressive, the dude has great edge lighting, and I love his big bulbous fingers and the way he hoards and brandishes his charmin, surrounded by deep dark caves. Terrific job, Rod. The idea that their caves are so dark they can grow mushrooms (as in the bottom of your image) is perfect.
You know, I do understand that a virus that has the potential to fell 4 or 6 or 8 times the people that the Swine Flu felled, is a big, big deal. I just don't know why the world has to go this far in dealing with it. Has it gone this far for the climate crisis (which is huge and only getting huger), or even for cancer or other deadly diseases and conditions? Is what we've given up worth all this? I don't know. but it's just frightening and so extreme. Anyway, a fitting image, and I hope you and jo are doing well, and holding up in this very distended time. Have you had lockdown where you are? (We just got it. This is sooooooo strange---and so hard on all those losing their jobs...) I hope all's well, Rod. A fine job, and maybe some of those gougers will see it and decide they don't want to be like this dude...Take care, and stay well!
Yeah, I saw Wes's (desgar) post about Chicago's Mayor laying down the law there. I'm not sure which scares me more - the virus or the powers-that-be getting used to having that kind of power... I guess we'll see what happens when this virus finally runs its course..
