Description

Compared to most nights, this is quite a subdued one. (Back when I first got into Poser/3DCG in a serious way, "Feng's Noodle Shop" was one of the first highly detailed sets I ever bought. It's no longer available at Daz3D, which is a pity, because it's got some great opportunities for multiple uses. First, there's the outside, which wouldn't look out of place with the shutter down on any semi-futuristic street scene. Then, with the shutter up---as shown here---there's the customers' point of view. Behind the counter you can find tons of details, so a staff's-eye view can be done from there, looking out at what you decide is in the street, or simply concentrating on the staff this side of the counter. And that's not all! There's a back room with refrigerated storage units, a sink for washing the noodle bowls, and plenty of room for various things to take place. And we're not done yet. There's a side door accessible from the street that leads into a short corridor that connects the serving area with the backroom storage area. Again, with lots of detail. So yeah... when I first got it and installed it, I was amazed at how detailed Poser models could be. I think it kind of set my expectations up high because not many purchases since then have delighted me the same way. I haven't seen anyone creating renders with it these days so decided to give it some love. I added a few things, removed a few others, and generally changed up the materials to match what is possible in Superfly---it was designed when Poser 7 was the latest thing, so you can probably guess the default materials were a little on the dull side.) (Posed and rendered in PoserPro 11, clothes---apart from guy on the left---made in Marvelous Designer, postwork in PSP.)

Nice scene! I really like the lighting, esp. the way light and shadows fall on the shirt of the last guy on the right!
