And he was no longer making progress on his problem that had traveled here with him from Terra...Earth. He didn't talk want to about that though. Not with her. Eli, yes. Her, no. He discovered she'd studied Feng Shui along with Tai Chi, and various weapons techniques. "I totally suck at Kenjutsu," she told him, "but I'm pretty good with a bo stick and sai. Not near as good as you are, probably." "Never really used them much," Djinn answered her. "My hands and feet are usually all the weapons I need. Tai Chi is good. I can teach you more than you'd probably want to know about chi. Where are you off to after summer?" he asked, hoping she'd stick around here. Glory sighed. "I'll be going to the Great Southern Land. I have to start my training with my uncles Yaz and Raphael: Alchemy, Medicine and all that stuff. That's another five years, maybe four if I do well. I'm a healer, you know. That's my natural inclination. But I don't want to talk about it," she led him out into the back yard patio. "Let's go do something silly, like talk to the birds or butterflies." Djinn had laughed, thinking she was kidding. She wasn't. She showed him, which was kind of amazing and cool. They'd land on her hand - her fingers. They showed no fear of her whatsoever. She was so alive, so smart and sweet. He found himself being charmed all over again by the time Julie called them in for dinner. Glory was a gem. Most importantly, she made him laugh and remember something of what it was to be young and innocent - something he had been having all too much trouble with feeling lately. He had to fix that. He had to fix everything first. Patience and belief. Did The Game really write itself? Or were they writing it as they went? Now there was a thought - one that still hadn't left him to this day. If only his dreams answered such questions, instead of dragging him through those horrible nightmares from Terra e-v-e-r-y night.
