Description
I spotted it in our garden. This butterfly species is rare in the South of the Netherlands, and it's a pity that I don't have the butterfly with its wings closed, because its exterior has a very nice drawing.
In Dutch it's called: de kleine parelmoervlinder.
Latin name: Issoria lathonia

Prachtige macro-opname.
The color contrast is almost too perfect. I thought it had been edited in some way to tone down the background, but it seems from the description that this is just as it came straight out of the camera. That is really cool: Sometimes reality just decides to do your work for you like that.
