Not much time for a detailed critique, but I just wanted to drop by and say this is an outstanding example of your new look. I like the decision to skip the ink lines and let the color blocking define the shapes. Pose is interesting and gives the sense of the calm before a flurry of movement. Definitely showing strength and intelligence in the face. My only critique would be that there is a section of his tunic that looks like it's furry. I think a little smoothness would help here, rather than those tiny brushstrokes (that effect would have looked great on his fur, by the way). Lighting is cool, and I even like those two little "clumps of paint" off to the right side of the image in the background.
