Description
I've been watching and celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing. I've also been marveling at the contrast between the optimism of 1960s space exploration and today's more militaristic view of space adventure. (I've also been marveling at how perfect the old Major Cache package is for capturing a Robert Heinlein-style starship trooper).
Post-processing in Filter Forge.
Enjoy!

"Welcome to the Space Marine Corp, travel to a lot of strange worlds and kill a lot of strange creatures."
Nah, sorry for my cynicism (you know me)... this is freaking E.P.I.C.! Had a starship troopers vibe on first glance, too. Talking military: I often wonder where we (mankind) could be, if we stopped putting so much effort in killing ourselves (for money, power, whateverthephuckitissomepeopleyearnforsohard) and started to invest more into science (all levels, be it medical, astrophysical, enviromental).
I guess we never really learn.
But damn, Dan! That's one awesome piece of art!
Splendid take on the militaristic theme behind the new space exploration that is being suggested. It is going to start another arms race to develop weapons to blast each other from space ! Welcome to humanity ! Aliens should beware.
Ususual but great render. The limited color scheme of the dropship fits perfectly with the armor. Not too many colors = good render. The opposite of what I am doing... too many colors in my render.
Thank you for your thoughts and comments. Much appreciated!
