Remember all that work I did back in 2017 after the flood in my basement? Three coats of waterproofing on the floor, then a new layer of tile? Well, guess what...
Yep. Another flood. Not as bad as in 2017 by any means, but still... As if I haven't had enough to deal with this spring...
It has been raining pretty much steadily here for the past 2 weeks, and the problem is the ground is just so saturated. The water is actually seeping up through the floor - despite all the waterproofing I did back in 2017. You can see in the photo the water around the seams between the tile. And the forecast is for more rain pretty much all through next week.
So if my activity here is (still) spotty, this is the reason why. I hope all of you are having a better spring than I am, my friends.
I think it's time to look elsewhere and get out of this #%^&&% money pit this house is rapidly becoming.

At least it's tile! And it does dry out again--we have the same thing in our garage and the fix may be eventually moving :D I hope you can get it dried out quickly!

I heat that, been having to deal with similar situation as well. Spent most of the day redoing front downspouts, clearing out some old mulch to re-level the ground to try to stop the puddling next to the foundation. Hang in there, and yeah the forecast for the rest of the week sucks. I hope we don't get all the rain they are predicting. Enough, is enough.
Oh no! Water, water everywhere! Sorry about your wet plight, makes one feel indefensible. The photo reminds me of my kitchen floor right after mopping it. Great texture if that's any comfort. I suppose a houseboat would be the order of the day in your area.
I've been thinking about you and all the terrible weather your area has endured lately. Well, I guess this is the answer. Do hope the weather starts improving for you...but if it doesn't, how are you at building an ark?

Dang nab Rod, we sure have our shares of snares and pits. Unless you plan on being a scuba diver II would get rid of that money pit. So very sorry again this happened my friend. Glad as you said not as bad but still a huge downer. We had 8 inches of snow in my area, pat mid May!! Not since 1975 I think they said we had this amount do late in spring. Hope the best bro. Niki was on the PG cover this month. You don't plan on being Noah also as Mike hinted around.

8ft or longer downspout extensions to divert the water away from the foundation and a 2nd 1/4HP portable pump in case the main sump pump can't keep up. Sorry to hear & best of luck my friend.

I'm not back yet, but I had to respond to this. I'm very sorry you're getting plagued again---and plague is the right word. My aunt and uncle had this problem over and over, no matter what they did. Some locations just get that way; and with the current deluge of rain in the midwest, it's very hard to stem the tide. I'm terribly sorry for this constant onslaught of troubles that have descended on you and Jo, and I truly hope you guys can find a place in a better locale and be free at last of all these problems. It's like you both are being 'tested'. (The powers-that-be might've done this when you were 30 rather than now. The timing is pretty damned cruel.) I don't know about fixing floods, but if there's anyway you can handle this with the minimum of effort, I hope it's feasible. And I wish you all the best in getting a new place...and also, I send all my healing and strength to Jo, who I assume is still healing...and to you as her caretaker. (As Barb's pointed out, that's a fulltime job, and I wish you all the best with it.) I'm rooting for the sun to start shining on you, both literally and figuratively; and I hope that this is the end of this long line of messes that have been thrust on you since your last few years of work. Just when you get over one bump (or several) in the road, more comes into view. Hoping the coming rains won't be as problematic as some predict. Yikes!

OMG what a terrible thing to happen once again! I have had the roof over my pantry repaired 3 times in the past 5 or 6 years but somehow (the hurricanes) it manages to find a way to leak over and over again. It's really frustrating so my heart goes out to you!
Actually, I feel fortunate that's all the problem I've had (so far). Lots of folks here in Missouri are in far worse shape. Jefferson City got hammered bad with a tornado last night - lots of damage..
