Description
“Myst, this is Keya Moonglamaer, an old friend… with a very poor sense of humor,” he introduced, his lack of amusement clear in his voice, “Keya this is Ilamyst, formerly of Maerimydra.”
“An ‘old friend’,” Keya taunted with feigned indignity, “is that all I am… now.”
Myst eyed the half-elf appraisingly, as a pang of jealousy surprised her, but had to admit that she was a stunning beauty, with a wild mane of fiery auburn hair, sparkling jade green eyes and a fair, bronzish complexion due to her wood elven heritage. She’d only known Mykal for little more than a day but felt a stronger bond with him than anyone other than her mother, who’d died when she was little more than a girl, yet she was still startled by the resentment she felt at the realization that he had most likely been intimate with the alluring minstrel at some point in the past.
“Maybe not even that… if you don’t behave,” he warned, his tone making it clear that he did not appreciate her insulting his companion. In truth, it hadn’t been very long since they’d shared much more than just the odd adventure together. They had parted company on good terms, their chosen paths leading them in different directions… but he’d assumed those paths would cross again… as they always did.
“Wait just a minute,” Myst interrupted their repartee as the implications of Keya’s surname suddenly dawned on her, and she queried; “Moonglamaer… as in the boarding house?”
“Yes… Hacathra is her mother,” Mykal revealed, casting a knowing look between the two beauties.
“Not that she’s proud of it,” Keya grumbled with a humorless smirk. Her mother refused to even speak of her father, and none of the few kin she has met, or the boarding house staff, were any more forth coming, nor accepting of her. If it hadn’t been for her talents as a bard, a vocation few wood elves were suited to, but held in high regard non-the-less, she would have likely been disowned when she came of age.
“So… you’re no less of a ‘stray’ then I am,” Myst provoked with a sullen chuckle. Now she understood why the beautiful minstrel had been drawn to find solace in Mykal’s company… she was just as much of an outcast.
“Aren’t we all,” Mykal admitted, giving voice to Myst’s revelation, hoping for an end to the snipping between the two stunning, but distinctly diverse, half-elven beauties.
“All half-elves are I supose… regardless of whoes blood we have or what house rejects us,” Keya conceeded, a wicked grin turning her lips as she eyed Myst with a sinful glint. She could see why he’d taken to the alluring half-drow; there was a near palitable sensuality about her that was impossible to deny… not that she had any interest in denying it.
Recognizing Keya’s look as her gaze roamed over Myst’s lithsome form, Mykal found himself imagining the possibilities. From his travels in her company he knew her devotion to Sune, the firehaired goddess of love and passion, left her with an appriciation for beauty in all its forms; inanimate and living… male and female!

Please be kind about her pose... I have no idea how to play a musical instrument and struggled to just get her hands anywhere close to where they looked right while working around the rather odd shape of the lute.

Your pose seems fine to me. (another non-musician) It's less stiff than my last lute pose. I think I grabbed a guitar pose for it and tried to adjust it. Yours seems more natural. Great image and story

Nothing wrong with the hand posing. Her stance is good as well. I looked at different images of guitar players, and it all works.
Thanks for your kind comment! The hardest part was accommodating the awkward pear shaped back of the lute, which meant making her arm reach farther out in front than with a guitar.

Got to loosen the collar... things are getting steamy :) ! The pose looks good. I too am not sure about the actual intricate pose that will be accurate but this to me looks pretty good. And I can see why Myst is feeling jealous. Keya is really beautiful !
Thanks again for all your kind comments! I've never even held a guitar, no less a lute, so I was really working blind here, and the big plum shaped back really made it awkward. Things could go either really good or really bad for Mykal... he could end up with two hot chicks or left behind!
