Description
To build it, part of the fortified city was razed to the ground. He was a witness to the end of the Renaissance and already heralded the classicism of the 18th century. Originally, the castle, flanked by two monumental wings and four corner pavilions, surrounded the main courtyard, which was enclosed by a surrounding wall. The wings, pavilions and this fence wall were dismantled in the mid-18th century and their stones sold. Seized during the French Revolution, it was used as a prison in the 19th century, where the two current wings and a caretaker's house were built; then as a school for the preservation of young women from 1880 onwards. It was heavily damaged following a fire (1928), became a public institution of supervised education and finally closed in 1952. The prison administration then returns the castle to the Fine Arts Secretariat and then to the Ministry of Culture.

Nice capture.
Nice shot!
Very good!
Belle photo
