Throughout my stay in Oberammergau, Germany (12-18-2018 to 01-02-2019) the weather was 'wechselhaft', i.e. changeable and relatively mild. The temperature in Oberammergau hovered around the freezing point, slightly below freezing at night and slightly above freezing during the day time. Light snow through many nights with 2 to 3 inches in the morning which was reduced to next to nothing during the day when the snow turned to rain. Snow cover strictly depended on elevation. My cousin Gundi's house is located at the outskirts of Oberammergau at an elevation of 852 m about 20 to 30 m higher than the center of the village. This road leads to the Hallenbad, another few meters higher the my cousins house. There was not enough snow anywhere for cross-country skiing.
