Description
Gena was a reporter with the City Newspaper. Most of her assignments had been society functions and fluff bits. When she got wind of a possible corruption scandal in one of the charity organizations, she practically blackmailed her editor into letting her run with it. At the moment she is waiting for an informant to meet her with names, dates and tangible proof of misappropriated funds. Getting up this early will be worth it if the story pans out. In the middle of texting, she hears a noise and isn’t sure where it came from. Hopefully it is just a cat scrounging for breakfast but it makes her have a few second thoughts as to this meeting location. The Whistle Blower had better show up soon or she is getting out of here.
Gena is being played by Adam Thwaites (Most Digital Creations) new CS16 character. Testing her out grew into this scene.

Outstanding work! the pose and lighting are great
Quite a backstory...it suits the image perfectly. And the tall largely window-less brick (half of it has no windows) make the scene feel very ominous and bleak, despite the warm reds and late afternoon sun. The closed dumpster/storage bin adds to the sense of menace because of the recycle symbol---which, here, almost feels like a "toxic substances" symbol. And you have deepening shadows in the piece too. I know a few journalists who've done whistle-blowing work; they're not close friends or anything, but I've come to know them through writing, graphic work, etc; and these moments (of waiting) are very real, and scary too. Love the pose on the reporter, one foot up against the car, as she looks behind her. The car's powerful contrast too, in that stark white. You evoke your story perfectly. You wouldn't see me standing out there: In Chicago, you don't mess with these places. Fine work, with great light. (And those windows are all covered up! I guess no one wants to see out of them, in this part of town!)
