Amazing capture Andrea. God bless.
A British dragonfly...and a new named insect for me. Imagine the field of view this guy has...maybe 270 degrees or so?
I have just found it it is more probably a Scarce Chaser, which is a new species for me!
Jeepers Creepers? We are dating ourselves, aren't we?
Amazing how close you get to these little guys. I still say they look like fighter pilots.

cool close up/macro
Cool close-up Andrea.
They always look as if they have goggles on.
so cool and beautiful
lol, Mark: That's an old lyric, to be sure. And Bill made a point I often think about: How do you process what some insects see: Who needs 2 million views??? Do they ever go to an ophthalmologist and request a replacement? The two shots are really different: The flickr is a bit sharper, and with a curved pose; this one is more about light, and the massivity of that piece of food. It glows. Really intense light in both shots. Beautiful detailed shots, both of them.
(Do you remember when Helle used to post insect macros? She caught heads and eyes that looked like glazed ceramic!)
