could this be causing the flat?

Most definitely.
If its still under guarantee just keep plugging way till they get it right nice shot BTW!!
The tire looks okay from this angle but the valve could be faulty if you can't fine a puncture. It certainly should be under warranty still!
Yeah, if it's not sealing properly that could definitely be a problem. I'd keep hammering them...
the tire should be flush and tight on the seating surface.
