_______This photo was shot yesterday, as I was still enjoying a finishing week-end in the Swiss Alps to the full, skiing and also snowshoeing on this amazing and gorgeous high mountain pasture hidden at the heart of the Bernese Alps...Free from cars, bikes and quad bikes, this pasture is only accessible by means of a two-and-a-half-hour trail ( which I previously risked taking !) or via a cable car that takes you up there in about 10 minutes ! I was put up at the hotel to the right, but two years ago, I also enjoyed sleeping in the chalet right across in the middle of the photo. Although there was no more snow in the valley and the trees were blossoming under a hot sun, the snow layer on the pasture was still estimated 3 meters high yesterday. You can see some rooftops to the right in the distance, of small chalets covered with snow.
_________In the end of June, when the snow still holds on the surrounding mountain summits , but has melted on the pasture, the cows are sent from the valley via the steep and narrow trail that leads to the plateau, an unbelievable sight and traditional festival open to everyone, as long as you put your name to take part in it and follow the cows going up, following one another one by one, so narrow the trail is.

Très belle image qui parle d'un monde préservé,
Comment un Alpin tel que moi ne pourrait pas être admiratif devant cette superbe photographie. La migtaion des bovins doit être quelque chose à voir ! Il a dû faire un peu plus doux que dans notre coin des Alpes car chez nous, je pense à l'Alpe d'Huez, par exemple, les toits sont encore couverts de neige qui couvre d'ailleurs une bonne couche de glace...quand tout cela bouge, les cheminées sont entraînées !
La neige immaculée des pentes que traversent seulement le granit, et la neige foulée par les passages jusqu'à la chaleur des lieux d'accueil, cet endroit est un point de rencontre! Entre l'homme et la montagne, et un peu plus tard entre les troupeaux et l'été! Magnifique endroit et superbe prise de vue, Jean-Luc!
Quel bel endroit, préservé des voitures et autres véhicules, et ce doit être aussi un plaisir d'emprûnter les mêmes sentiers que le bétail, quand la neige a fondu.......splendide photo, Jean-Luc !

Wonder if I'd like to come to a place like this. On one hand the scenery is beautiful, but on the other hand I don't think I'd like it when it's too cold! :)
