Description
The P2V-5 Neptune. There are a lot of versions of the Neptune. This is a version without the jet engines under the wings. The most popular pictures of the Neptune is the latest version with the jet engines and a bulbous canopy. Here you see it just after the new paint scheme was ordered in 1955. A gray paint scheme was ordered, but it needed some time to repaint all Neptunes. In the first years after the order the top of the fuselage was painted white. Later the blue was replaced by grey.
