Description
In the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park the male lions have traditionally black manes. We came across this fellow with a blonde mane and blind in his left eye. We actually saw him twice - both times with another black maned lion. He seems healthy otherwise.
It was during the heat of the day and this fellow was lying in deep shadow so I had to tweek my exposure a little hence the overexposed background.
For those of you following my safari, this is an arid park situated in the Kalahari Desert. Last year the park experienced an extremely good rainy season, hence the tall grass and greenery.
