Description
After Stevenson's death, the property was purchased by a wealthy German retiree and philanthropist, Gustav Kunst, who added extensions to each end of the house. During the New Zealand administration, it was occupied by the government administrator and later it served as the official residence of Malietoa Tanumafili II, the head of state, although he didn't actually live there. It is now a Museum in honor of Stevenson.
