Description
This ever happen to you? You roll out of bed and throw on your ratty but comfortable bathrobe and head down to get your morning paper. You check to see that no one is close and step out the door. Drat! The boy has missed the steps again. You dart out, grab the paper and rush back to the door. AAARRRHHH!!! IT’S LOCKED! You tug on the handles, rattling the door, but nothing happens. The neighbors are coming out to see what is going on. They all start to laugh. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! It’s the alarm clock by your bed. It’s all been a bad dream. You shut off the alarm and breath a sigh of relief. You roll out of bed and throw on your ratty but comfortable bathrobe . . . . .

A nightmare within a dream. Yes, I've had them, too. Usually a take off on an every day habit or occurrence, like this with getting the paper and being locked out. So VERY frustrating, then awakening. It's just a dream But so rattled by it I can't fall asleep. Wind up with a rotten feeling all day. Sigh. You really got this on the button! Is that Darth Vader I see incognito in the background? The Dark Side? Keep up the good work! :-)

well first of all, that's a pretty amazing door you have there! Not too shabby! And the window across the street ain't too shabby either~ Quite an ornate block. I love the look on that lady's face, as she tries the door handles, and the two men in the background turning their heads to see what's just happened. You got the moment, for sure. I've had it happen to me; but I'm in a high rise, so if I lock myself out, I have to go down an elevator and stand in a lobby---with tons of people coming in and out---asking for a copy of my keys. It's wonderful. Anyway, you captured the shock of the moment, and I love the designs you have here.
I canceled the paper, the carrier kept throwing it under my car.

The subdued colors, the vaguely surrealistic setting and the panicked expression on the lady's face all come together to form a disturbing image that could have made an excellent book cover for a horror novel or anthology.The story you supplied sounds like something right out of The Twilight Zone, too!
