I like them, and never mind the paper! Pine trees are naturally sort of like that, along with horsetail ferns.

A fun doodle very well done with watercolor on what looks like a paper towel, Helle. Keep up the good work.

Very cool and fun little doodle, Helle! I think the paper texture adds to the spontaneous, free look of this.

I agree with Rod and Tara, the watercolor paper adds to the painting---for me, it adds pulse. I imagine the painting without the bumps would be equally beautiful, but with them it has its own unique feeling. And you created the feelings of trees with minimal means: Dabs of your brush, probably pressure on the brush sides, and varying intensities of greens. They get lighter as we go back in the image. (Usually there's more light upfront, and more dark in the back: by reversing that, you've made the background light and airy, which is delightful.) You made a whole world with minimal means; even the little brown dabs in the foreground have real character. And you allowed lots of white to balance out the colors. Delicate and beautiful. I don't have those brush techniques the way you do. This is a lesson in how to use the brush...a beautiful intimate painting.

I like what you've done - the paper adds to the scene and makes the trees seem more alive
