Description
We arrived at mid-morning after a nearly 3 hr flight from Nadi. The temperature was in the upper 80s and the dew point in the mid 70s. The airport building is a one terminal affair and is still under construction, being build by the Chinese. After clearing through customs (I was the only Caucasian on board) the surprises started. I had bought a round trip flight (it took just about 20 hrs to get from Phoenix, Arizona to Samoa), hotel and Budget car rental. There was no Budget rental agency at the airport, it was in Apia, about 40 km east of the airport. That was the first surprise.
