Story / Description :
Miho and I were back at one of her huge wilderness properties. She owned more than a 1000 square miles of it and Miho had bought it to protect that area from being indiscriminately open mined. The area was resource rich as Miho had found out during her initial scanning and a subsequent scanning of this place some time ago. Now we were back with even more ultra tech equipments to do a even more through study of the place and map every inch of it and also to a depth of 200 miles.
It was really hot here. The sun was up, the sky mostly clear. While I laid down a rug for us, Miho got out of her cloths as I suspected she would and got comfy on the rug. And once again it got even more hotter. She loved soaking up the sun and it energized her. The wolf laid down besides her like the last time. I put a glass of ice tea for Miho next to her and got the wolf some specially made juice to keep him hydrated in this hot weather. Miho initialized the scanning drones and launched one. As usual I got my camera and took some snaps of her. She looked so relaxed and happy here. I suspected that being here away from the world brought her some peace.... Her life was ultra busy and at her young age she never really had time for herself.... Fighting evil corporations, running hundreds of companies and charities all over the world, inventing things, doing research in every field known to mankind and beyond.... basically it all ensured she did not have time for herself.... And hence she cherished this kind of detour away from the world even more....
Miho launched the other two drones and I sat down beside her and we monitored the progress on her laptop. Each of the drone had a different purpose and they scanned for different things. The drones fell into an automated routine. They had built in AI which would alert Miho if they came across something unexpected...
Hours passed by very fast.... Whenever I was in her company, time just flew by.... In most cases it was because we were caught up in some adventure but even here away from everything where you would expect time to pass by slowly, it felt otherwise. Finally it was time to get the drones back and pack up. Miho sent out the command to the drones and one by one they returned. I put the drones into the Ranger and Miho got up, stretched and let out a big happy sigh.... She looked totally refreshed and I knew she had gained back a little bit of peace of mind... The evil corporation and the damage they were doing was never far away from her mind.... While Miho got back into her cloths, I loaded the rest of the stuff into the Ranger. Then all three of us got into the Ranger and we drove off with a little bit of sadness in our hearts for leaving such a pristine and peaceful place behind.... It probably will be some time before we came back here but I knew Miho was planning to build a hidden base here... Hence all the scanning... So in the future we may be here more often and that was something to look forward to.... I drove lost in my own thoughts as Miho and the wolf slept throughout the drive... She really needed the sleep...

About this render :
This again is a different take on one of my earlier renders. I changed the surroundings a bit but kept Miho and the wolf in the same pose expect for reposing her arms and doing a bit of work on her bosom area to make them look more natural. I experimented with where to place the ranger and finally settled on what you see here. To me it really looks real. I added dirt on the tires via the material editor of Octane. This time I wanted to place Miho's dress on the scene. I tired putting the dress on the rug but it did not look that good so I thought I would place it on the bonnet of the Ranger. I used dForce simulation to lay the dress on the bonnet. I placed the drones in the scene and adjusted the tree positions. Removed lot of the tress to give the scene a more open look. Finally adjusted the camera angle and did the render. I am using a wide angle and spherical distortion to pull Miho towards the front.
What do you think of Miho's skin tone ? Does it look real to you , specially the torso and hand areas ? What about the hair ? I am really happy with what I am finally able to get after almost a year plus of tweaking and redoing her skin and hair materials. Her material shader have gotten very complicated over time but I think the results look pretty good. I need to still do more work on her teeth shader. But overall I am happy with what I am able to get this time around. Lighting is also very important regarding as to how the skin looks as is the render settings and hence I do pay a lot of attention to them and always do a lot of RnD with them. How do you think the Ranger (SUV) looks ? Does it look realistic to you ? What about the whole environment ? The only thing I don't really like that much is how the wolf's fur looks in this render. Generally it renders a lot better. If I let it render for a couple of more hours probably it will clear up but I am out of patience so going to post it as it appears now ;p....
The ground is a custom texture from Real Displacement Texture. I have started to get a lot of Quixel Megascan textures and will start to use them in future renders to continue to add realism to my renders. My previous renders with Miho on the cliff are from Quixel Megascan. They too look very real as well they are made from photos of real stuff.
I did restart this render many times after fixing something I did not like while the rendering was going on so it took many hours to finish this. The final render took around 2 hours to do on my souped up graphics workstation.
