Description

*Toute musique qui ne paint rien n'est que du bruit.* (All music which cannot paint anything is just a noise) J. D'Alambert --------------------------------------------- This will be a series (open in its number) dedicated to ballets, one of my prediliged art forms, where the love for music, acting, and the technique and passion of evolved dance all concur to create a magic ineffable and mighty. I thank all people who have helped me in learning how to love this artform, and Rudolph Nureyev and Margot Fonteyn (and A. Bland, their favourite photographer) to have existed and danced together. If some of you has never watched a ballet in theathre, of classical dance: please, go, and share the immense magic with open mind and heart. You won't be the same ones at the end. This is from Marguerite and Armand Ballet. Enjoy

I like this diagonal composition very much. It looks good how you captured the pose. And I am looking forward seeing how you will catch the movement :-)

The perspective lines do not converge accurately, but nevertheless it shows a paradox in that it is absolutely static and yet charged with a sense of energy

Marguerite is War. Margarite is the pearl. Marguerite is the last queen of Italy. Who is Armand? I discover. Now I speculate. Armand is the watch spring that drives the treasured hands over the face made up as Marguerite. Right now it is about 1:40 GMT. Now the points as the watch ticks from the shoes. The decision is almost hidden but they are together.

Love the way you've managed to get the 2 bodies to blend into one harmonious shape. Just like dancers do....

Beautiful Meli, although the perspective could do with a little tweaking, you have certainly invoked the passion of dance. Thanks for sharing it and I'm looking forward to seeing the entire series :D

Your artwork is perfection, but what makes art move beyond the page and give itself life is the emotion behind the composition...the emotion the composition evokes in the beholder. Your love for the Ballet, the intense movement of the dance and the excitement of the music evokes this emotion in us and therefore brings life to art. Thank you Meli!

he melii didnt now you could express persons like this. Beautiful stance, the woman is just perfect, the shading on her shoulder is a very good touch. You know, I really love the way you draw hair... the shading to me is very interesting (and something I was never able to capture like you do back when I used to draw). Great image Meli.

after having seen a documentation about Rudolph Nureyev on TV (including scenes from this ballet and these dancers) I have to comment on this image again, because I appreciate it now even more - really nice capturing the essence

a parte le labbra di lui che sembrano avere il rossetto (:=P) il disegno molto ben fatto. La schiena di lei perfettamente in tensione.
