When I watch the news I am reminded daily how lucky I am.
Like these folk here, free to just sit, or paddle board, of have lunch at the beach cafe, from where I took this photo.
See the girl and the paddleboarder closer Here

I agree with you Andrea, all those people killed in Egypt, so very sad. Lovely pic of the beach, my friends daughter teaches paddle boarding.
thankful for the freedom we have in most things...
beautiful scene!
Very nice capture Andrea.
And a lovely fall day it was. It saddens me when I think of how far we as a species might have advanced if only the politicians and religious extremists had left us alone.
Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
Beautiful view, Andrea. OH Yes, we are very lucky.
Some friends came down last week from Dallas. They're in their 40s, and still working. We told them there was a dance starting at 7:00 on Tuesday night if they were interested, and they were gobsmacked! A dance on a Tuesday night? ????? Well, when everybody is retired, Tuesday is exactly like Saturday, so it makes no difference. They had a terrible time wrapping their heads around that! What a joy to choose every day what we'll do, with very few demands on our time. Go to the beach, stay at home, take a walk ... it's only dependent upon our mood and the temperature.
Ahhhhhhh .....
Read and loved Tara's comment. But your life has more people and creatures who you have to care for, than Tara and Bill. I've always liked how you still have all these personal communions with your garden, your streets, your beach, etc. Your seem to have a balance between that and ttaking care of boarders, dogs, etc. And you seem to have a very high quality life; and we get to see it over and over, in your gallery.
That freedom comes across here...but also a sense of vastness and (even) desolation. I mean just a lack of people (I don't mean that in a bad way). I do see a few people, but this is such an open and infinite scene, it's hard to believe that, at other times, people would be all over the beach. Because you shot it through a sheet of acrylic (or whatever), it heightens the sense of unreal-ness, like this could be at the end of the world---it has a primal feeling; but then your ocean has that feeling to begin with. I love the flare and the bleached colors mixed with deep shadows. This says primal waters as much as any shot you've posted of your ocean. It's beautiful and bleak in this shot.
