Description
My brother and his husband. (Trent is on the right.) I should start saying, "This is my brother-in-law, David, and his husband, Trent." That would mess people up, huh? Watch 'em count on their fingers, trying to figure out who I'm really related to! :P
The weekend of the wedding was beautiful and sunny, and it was hard for everyone to remember to take their sunglasses off to get their pictures taken! I can't tell you how many times the official wedding photographer would get people lined up in a group, take a couple of pictures, and then say, "Oh ... sunglasses!" And off they'd come.
So I told David and Trent, "Stand there, look natural, wear your sunglasses, and act like you like each other!" They laughed, and there it is.
(They weren't trying to be matchy-matchy, btw. Brittany picked out their ties to match her flowers, so they'd look nice together in pictures. Most of the men had on that color belts and shoes. Must be the "in" thing.)

delightful photo and cute narrative
I love the ties they look fabulous. A beautiful happy capture to add to this series. 😀
Too cool for school.
Good photo
They both look terrific!
Lucky you! They look really nice, your relatives! And, I DO like the ties! Keep up the good work! :-) And say "Hi!" to Bill from me!
Two sweet guys. They look so happy together. Love that :D
Two smiling guys :)
kudos to Brittany, her 'matching' ties are really quite different; she picked out real variety within the theme. And so are the belts and shoes; the general colors are similar, but I like the differences. (In a few of your groom's party shots, it looks like the shoes are all identical---something I've seen in other weddings. People have moved away from the black tie/black shoes thing, and yet kept the 'matching' idea alive.) This is another of your innate knack for portraiture, whether random or posed. You have a perfect feel for this. Great shots of this couple, great smiles---unforced but very rich---and great matching angled postures, and lined well against that background of posts. And the sunglasses don't feel at all unnatural, they just feel comfortable for them. A caring, loving portrait, Tara, and a loving tribute to their love. You're so good at this. If anyone ever asks me to 'do a wedding', I'll have to study your work. (And you know what? I've seen lots of pro wedding libraries, and yeah, they have the lights and reflectors and all the 'proper' shots, but they often don't have the spirit and love you capture...it's a shame more weddings don't use work like yours...)
Great photo of these two gents, Tara! The ties are a great touch, and the shades compliment them perfectly!
The first thing I saw were the ties. And I thought it was a fashion show. Anyway, I think it has become a particularly relaxing picture, a very handsome couple, and a very clever photographer, of course. Thumb up, Tara!
what a lucky day, great photo, handsome men and couple and floral tie! good job Tara!! so many weddings, and you know how to handle people they all turn great in your pictures!
