Alabama Hills, California
We spent two days exploring the Alabama Hills, which are in Eastern California, just outside of Lone Pine. On the second day a storm came through, which gave us some pretty amazing light. We stayed in Lone Pine for two or three days on our way back to Washington from Texas. It was the last trip we took in the motorhome, and we have fond memories!

Beautiful scenery. I love that area along US395.
really cool lighting and great view
A stunner - love the dual transition from color to gray & from sharp focus to soft...
A masterpiece! Reminds me of a 19th century landscape painting.
Amazing light in this beautiful moody capture and I love how the rays are showing at the top. A great shot for the memory bank. :)
beautiful light painting, which dapples the mountains and the ground with an almost undersea light. And it feels like 'silk' light too---esp in the sky, where it's not seen 'against' anything. You coaxed out completely non-material sights here---all light and sheen and shadow---and turned this landscape into a piece of magic. Beautiful work, Tara. A beautiful, very magical image.
(I'm almost finished with Bill's piece. It just took time...it's imaginative rather than realistic, and it's taken time to hone it...it should go up soon.)
Fantastic Work,
Beautiful capture !!
Just the way you captured this it could be another planet. So cool.
This looks fantastic. Love the mixed landscape with rocks and vegetation and the mountains, not to mention the fantastic light and warm colors. 5*
So dramatic! I this week watched a BBC programme about the power of past floods, millennia ago. About a third of the hour was about the Scablands of Washington. Fascinating !
Beautiful capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
awesome view abd capture
OK, now this is epic! What a fantastic shot, Tara! That mountain range has such a misty, other-worldly feel to it, and you've captured it so well!
Great scene and weather Tara. I was hoping to see something like this on this Veterans Day weekend, but nothing like sun
Awesome!!! This one is Great! Aloha
A really great lighting.
Wow, what a wonderful view and lighting! Must be great there with motorhome!
Wow, what a view! I love the light!
I like the variation of color... its what would have drawn me to take this shot. Well done.
Beautiful, T!
