Description
Roulettes are food carts, vans on wheels, that sell food along the waterfront, usually near the Place Vai'ete and the Boulevard de la Reine Pomare IV in Papeete. The carts are family owned, decorated with multicolored lights, are often gaudily painted and sell food ranging from Chinese to pizza, crepes, steak and fries, fish and much more. The food is excellent and much cheaper than in restaurants. It is always a festive atmosphere, since all family members are also present, but especially on weekends when the luxury cruise ship 'Paul Gauguin' is in port to discharge and board new passengers for 7 day cruises through the Society Islands.
