Part 11:- She told Jake “Our ancestors came from a planet called Earth. Our history disks show that hundreds of spaceships were dispatched in an attempt to colonize the planets prior to a nuclear war taking place. I am from Elongor, one of those colonized planets. We were on a trading mission when our ship was destroyed by a meteor storm. We managed to escape in the only pod available. However, the force of the explosion damaged the pods navigational instruments and hurled us, at great speed, into a completely uncharted location. The pod was well provisioned, so we had food & water. But having no navigational aid we were left drifting for months, until an engine developed a fault which forced us to land here.” - “Who are you?” she said “You don’t look anything like these - these creatures”. Jake replied “My home planet was also Earth. I was 12 years old when I was selected with 2000 other young people to join a space mission to a newly discovered Earth like planet. Because the journey would take 500 Earth years we were all placed in suspended animation. As we neared the new planet the computers awoke us. Most were very excited as our new home looked very much like Earth. However, problems soon developed between religious factions that led to riots and an act of sabotage which caused the ship to crash into the ocean of this planet. I was the only survivor and fortunately able to swim ashore”… But come, we must leave this area now!”
