Part10:- He gazed out from his position of concealment behind the hut wondering what he could do. Suddenly he heard screaming and grunting from the opposite side of the encampment and most of the Others were then running towards the disturbance, leaving one to guard the female. Jake saw his opportunity and slowly crept up behind the guard and put him to sleep with one carefully placed thump. Pushing the curtain aside with his spear, he said “I’m Jake and I’m here to save you” She looked a little startled, then Jake said “Follow me” Fortunately she seemed to understand, and without hesitation, followed him into the jungle. When they had reached a safe distance from the village, she asked “Where are my friends?” Jake said “I’m sorry but they didn’t make it.” She took the news badly, but Jake, trying to cheer her up asked “Where did you come from?”
