Description
Burano is a small island in the Venetian Lagoon located 7 km from Venice. The island consists of four parts linked by bridges. The islands inhabitants are mostly fishermen, and it is also known for its lace making and colorful houses. The folklore has it, that the colorful houses were the idea of the fishermen's wifes, to help their husbands, after they come back from fishing and having had a few drinks, to find the right house and right woman to return to.
