Description
My walking/gardening boots.
Last winter was mainly so mild that I hardly wore them, but lived in what the outdoor specialists call 'Approach Shoes' !
We shall see what this year brings.

They look sturdy and well cared for. Never knew the shoes I wear everyday were called Approach Shoes. You learn something new everyday.
Nice shot. Don't know if the laces just naturally ended up like that or you carefully arranged them, but I like they way the snake-like way they curl around the shoes. I also like that radiant yellow background behind the earth-toned shoes...

I love the composition too (tara), but even moreso the ultra detail in your full size closeup, and that gold yellow background. Don't know if that's the actual color, or you made it that way, but either way it makes a lush, royal backdrop to these terrific shoes. The postworked version is very subtle---with veins running through the leather (or suede) but rather subtly. I like it a lot. And I've heard of approach shoes, and I think they're used to get to a mountain trail, then one trades them for heavy hiking boots...something like that. Anyway, I love this closeup, and I've rarely seen big boots like these look so appealing.
