Description
The Deux Chevaux (2CV) was produced by Citroen in France and many other countries, including Argentina. They were built from 1948 to 1990 and a total of over 3,800,000 were manufactured. The 2CV was designed as a low-cost, economical, simple, light-weight and easily maintainable vehicle. Many innovative functions were incorporated, and to keep the weight down, early models had corrugated hoods, for added strength. It was the first vehicle that was equipped with Michelin radial tires.
The engine was an air-cooled, flat-twin, four-stroke, 375 cc design with push rod operated overhead valves and a hemispherical combustion chamber. The early model developed 9 hp.
The engine size was increased to 425 cc in 1955, and to 602 cc in 1968. The later models produced 28 hp. In the early 1960's in Germany, 2CVs sold for half the price of a Volkswagen Beetle.

A little precision : the car on the pic is not a 2CV but a Dyane (similar but different) Construction in the 70th Image étonnante
@Lucien_Lilippe! I stand corrected!
The vehicle shown is not a 2CV but a Dyane also produced by Citroen between 1967 to 1983 with a similar engine design and engine sizes.
Super capture and some cool historical info thanx!!

I have travelling in Spain (camping in summer) with a Deux Chevaux (1965-69). Sometimes it was difficult to cross mountain passes.
And it still works ! I'm amazed ! Great capture !
