Description
Taken on a friend's property during the eclipse yesterday. This old rusty wreck was left on their property when they bought it (fairly recently) & they haven't gotten around to removing it. I went over to it hoping to find some crescent shaped sunlight spots though holes in the body, but there were none, so instead I took some photos of the car itself. One more filtered version to follow & perhaps some others...
Please zoom.

Looks like it's been used for target practice
It looks rather like a dead animal.
Wonderful picture :)

looks like a 37 /38 Chevrolet. superb find and capture
Beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!
Really in bad condition! Nice find and capture!
Great pic of the relic. It reminds me of Europe close to the end of WWII.
Wow! What a find! I would have been looking for holes too, given how this looks. :P Great shot!
I assume your friend has a large property; if this were a small lawn, I imagine they would've removed the car the day after they got there---it would pretty much take over a small piece of property. I love this. I love that you bothered to shoot it, I love the capture itself, and I love the thing itself. Yes, ala Harry, it could be a war relic. Or the leftover of an Al Capone shootout. Or just an abandoned vehicle. And your usual way with hues lets it stand out in rich decayed brown, against a backdrop of parched light browns and beiges. And the deep shadows behind give balance to all that heavily lit, almost blinding dried grass. Also, your angle lets us see a lot of what's going on in it. I loved this the minute it went up.
And btw: In the rear version, there's wood!!! I assume you either postworked it out for this shot---in which case, kudos, it's a seamless job---or---less likely---you spent the time lifting the planks and moving them out of sight; or---really less likely---you and your friend decided "hey, let's get, like, 30 planks of wood and stick them under the car; just so I can get a cool shot of it..." I'll assume the last wasn't even under consideration. Both shots are wonderful. And though I also liked the variations (the 'abstractifications'), the car itself is such an abstract, it could almost pass for 2D. Love that you shoot these kinds of subjects...
