Description
These two bike are parked and locked on Cathedral Square in Christchurch. They caught my eye because something like this one doesn't see in Phoenix. For one, it is way too hot to ride a bike, and there are practically no designated bike paths, so if one is brave enough to ride on the street it feels like open season. Some of the new developments in the outskirts of the city have bikepaths, but in downtown it is impractical. Also bikes left alone - and it doesn't matter whether locked or not - will disappear very fast!

I was in Amsterdam last year and there literaly was thousands of bikes it was quite a sight to see bike parks with thousands of bikes 3 levels. This is a great shot!!

I think they would disappeared in France too. There is now a rent-a-bike system in Paris ( Velolib) but it seems to cost more to Paris than they earn with the locations!
